Terms & Conditions
SketchAlchemy is operated by Stefan Lago, a sole trader based in Untersiggenthal, Switzerland, trading as Abstraction Systems ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using SketchAlchemy (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What SketchAlchemy does
SketchAlchemy converts images you upload — whiteboard photos, tablet sketches, scans, and similar — into cleaned-up images and editable Excalidraw scenes, using a generative AI model to interpret and redraw your content. Outputs are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations of your original sketch.
Payments and subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Paddle (Paddle.com), our authorized reseller and the merchant of record for all orders — see Paddle's buyer terms for their exact legal entity and how they handle payment collection, tax, invoicing, and refunds. By making a purchase you also agree to those buyer terms, which govern billing, renewal, and cancellation. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Break the law, or upload content you don't have the right to use.
- Generate or attempt to generate illegal content, non-consensual sexual imagery or deepfakes, hateful or harassing content, or instructions to cause harm.
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent the origin of generated content.
- Send spam, probe, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the Service's security or infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, safety filters, or billing controls.
You're responsible for the images you upload and for reviewing generated output before relying on or publishing it — the Service may misread handwriting or layout, and output should not be treated as a faithful, verified reproduction of your original without your own review. We may remove content, filter output, or suspend accounts where we reasonably suspect a violation of this section.
Your content and our license to it
You keep ownership of the images you upload and the scenes generated from them. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit that content solely to provide the Service (including to our AI processing provider, see our Privacy Notice). We don't claim ownership of your content and don't use it to train models beyond what's needed to serve your request.
We own the Service itself — its software, design, and branding — and grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for its intended purpose within your plan. You may not reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we disclaim all implied warranties to the extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for fraud, death, or personal injury.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated policy violations. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time via your account or Paddle's customer portal.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
